GTA 6 Will Fail If Rockstar Doesn’t Fix These 7 Major Problems
These days, every GTA fan wants just one thing—the release of GTA 6. The hype is insane, and everyone is waiting to finally dive into the world Rockstar has been building for nearly a decade.
But before GTA 6 actually launches, there are several long-standing issues Rockstar must address. From the broken Rockstar Games Launcher to corruption accusations within Rockstar Support, these problems could seriously damage players’ experience if left unresolved.
Below are 7 key issues Rockstar needs to fix before GTA 6 releases, or a lot of fans may walk away disappointed.
1. Corrupt Rockstar Support

Imagine trying to log into your game and something breaks—server problems, login errors, or launcher bugs. Naturally, the first place you’d reach out to for help is Rockstar Support.
But here’s where the issue gets complicated.
Most large gaming companies outsource support to third-party firms. These teams often have access to sensitive account-related information to speed up troubleshooting. But what happens when people inside those support teams misuse that access?
This problem came to light when YouTuber Mors Mutual Insurance accused Rockstar’s Social Club and Support staff of being involved in corruption. According to his claims:
- Rockstar’s Social Club was allegedly compromised years ago
- Hackers gained access to user accounts and sold them
- Some Rockstar Support employees were reportedly helping those hackers
- Hackers even took over Rockstar’s official crew and demanded a $10,000 ransom
Instead of stopping the hackers, Rockstar apparently deleted the entire crew.
While none of these claims are officially confirmed, the story highlights one thing clearly—security and support processes need serious improvement before GTA 6 arrives.

2. Bugged Rockstar Games Launcher

Rockstar has made some of the greatest games ever—but their Rockstar Games Launcher is easily one of their worst products.
Players constantly face issues like:
- Endless loading screens
- Forced offline mode
- Sound driver conflicts
- Slow downloads
- Login bugs
Now imagine GTA 6 launches on PC, and your launcher refuses to go online.
You’d be furious.
Even though Rockstar recently improved Discord Rich Presence and third-party platform support, the launcher still feels outdated and unreliable. If Rockstar wants GTA 6 to deliver the best experience, the launcher urgently needs a major overhaul.
3. Cheaters and Hackers

If you’ve played GTA Online even once, you know the pain: You’re cruising around peacefully, and suddenly—boom, you’re dead out of nowhere.
Hackers and cheaters have plagued GTA Online for years.
The biggest reason?
GTA Online is built on top of GTA 5’s single-player structure, where most game data is stored client-side. This makes things like:
- Mod menus
- Teleport hacks
- Unlimited money
- God mode
- Manipulated health/location data
…extremely easy to exploit.
This is why many players stick to Public Solo lobbies, which completely defeats the purpose of a multiplayer game.
For GTA 6 Online, Rockstar must implement a proper anti-cheat system.
The community will not tolerate another hacker-infested experience.
4. Lawsuit Against Modders

Mods have kept GTA games alive for over a decade. From enhanced graphics to custom cars to entire fan-made cities, mods bring fresh life into older titles.
But lately, Rockstar and Take-Two have been cracking down on modders—even those creating content for single-player, which has nothing to do with GTA Online.
Popular mods have been taken down, creators have faced legal threats, and older game mods like GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas have been removed entirely.
This approach hurts the creativity of the fans who put time and love into their work without expecting anything in return.
If Rockstar continues this behavior once GTA 6 releases, it could destroy the modding scene completely—one of the core reasons GTA games stay relevant for so long.
5. The Death of FiveM

Rockstar’s acquisition of FiveM / cfx.re was initially seen as a positive move, but things quickly turned messy.
Reports suggest:
- Development slowed down
- Security issues increased
- Updates became inconsistent
- Tensions grew between Rockstar and FiveM’s founder
Within six months, Rockstar reportedly fired the founder and claimed he violated contract terms. Around the same time, leaks appeared about a new Rockstar-developed RP framework called ROME (Rockstar Online Modding Engine).
Some believe Rockstar may want to shut down FiveM or quietly replace it with ROME.
Considering how massive the roleplay community is, Rockstar must clarify their plans.
RP servers will be a huge part of GTA 6’s long-term success.
6. Bandwidth Issues

You may have seen Dan Houser’s interview where he said Bully 2 never happened because of “bandwidth issues.”
Basically, Rockstar didn’t have enough top-level creative staff to manage multiple projects.
If this same bandwidth problem affects GTA 6:
- We may never receive a proper single-player DLC
- Future Rockstar titles could continue releasing every 6–7 years
- Remasters or new IPs might remain a distant dream
While these are complex internal challenges, Rockstar needs better long-term planning.
Imagine getting a new Rockstar game every 2–3 years again—that would be incredible.
7. A Useful Mobile Companion App

Rockstar released mobile companion apps for GTA 5 (iFruit) and RDR2, but neither truly captured players’ interest. Eventually, both apps shut down in 2022.
For GTA 6, Rockstar will almost certainly release a new companion app—but this time, it should be genuinely useful and feature-rich.
Possible features could include:
- Managing your in-game social media
- Full access to in-game phone apps
- Character customization
- Inventory and stats management
- Shop browsing and vehicle customization
- Mini-games you can actually play
- An interactive map with activities, filters, and waypoints
If done right, the app could become an essential extension of the game.
Final Thoughts
GTA 6 is shaping up to be one of the biggest game releases in history. But if Rockstar doesn’t fix these long-standing issues—especially their support system, launcher stability, and stance on modding—the overall experience could suffer.
Most importantly, Rockstar must avoid the map mistakes of previous games, which we discuss in detail in our dedicated post: Map Mistakes Rockstar Should Avoid in GTA 6.
