Intel’s Arc B390 iGPU Reportedly Scores 7,000 in Time Spy Doubling Radeon 890M and Edging Past RTX 3050

If early numbers are anything to go by, Intel’s next-generation integrated graphics might be taking a much bigger leap than expected. A new leak suggests that the upcoming Arc B390, based on Intel’s Xe3 architecture for Panther Lake CPUs, is delivering scores that push it comfortably into entry-level discrete GPU territory. And while synthetic benchmarks don’t always mirror real-world gaming, the results are still raising eyebrows in a good way.

A Strong Showing in Early Time Spy Results

According to well-known leaker @OneRaichu, the Panther Lake iGPU configuration featuring 12 Xe3 cores is capable of scoring roughly 7,000 points in 3DMark Time Spy Graphics. That’s a significant bump over current Intel offerings and far ahead of what most integrated GPUs tend to achieve.

This specific configuration is believed to be the Intel Arc B390, the flagship iGPU variant that has already surfaced in several recent leaks. Earlier reports showed performance comparable to NVIDIA’s laptop-grade GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, and the latest Time Spy figure appears to put it slightly ahead of the desktop RTX 3050 as well an impressive feat for an integrated solution.

Of course, a note of caution applies: the leak doesn’t include screenshots, and the hardware in question is still an engineering sample. Numbers can and often do shift as Intel finalizes firmware, power limits, and drivers.

Up to 2X Faster Than Radeon 890M and a Generational Leap Over Arc 140T

If the 7,000-point figure holds, Intel’s Arc B390 would be sitting at nearly double the performance of AMD’s RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 890M, which is already considered one of the strongest integrated GPUs available today. It also significantly outperforms Intel’s own Arc 140T, found in Arrow Lake-H laptops marking one of the biggest generational gains Intel has made in years.

While AMD’s higher-end integrated GPUs such as the Radeon 8050S and 8060S still maintain a comfortable lead, they belong to a different class and power envelope. Panther Lake isn’t positioned to compete with AMD’s Strix Halo in raw GPU throughput, so the gap is expected

A Narrow Lead Over RTX 3050 but Don’t Expect Identical Gaming Performance

The report claims that the Arc B390 is around 12% faster than an RTX 3050 desktop GPU in Time Spy. It’s worth noting, however, that Intel GPUs have historically performed better in synthetic tests than in real-world gaming workloads. So while the benchmark uplift is notable, gaming results may paint a slightly different picture.

Additional leaked data suggests the B390 puts out a solid 6,000 points in 3DMark Steel Nomad Light, which reportedly gives it:

  • ~90% higher performance than Radeon 890M
  • ~80% higher than Arc 140T

These gains indicate more than just architectural refinement. It appears Intel has invested heavily into improving efficiency, memory bandwidth handling, and shader execution capabilities within Xe3.

A Promising Step Toward Better Handheld and Thin-and-Light Gaming

If Intel maintains this trajectory through final silicon, Panther Lake could become a compelling choice for upcoming gaming handhelds and compact gaming laptops. With performance landing near or above RTX 3050 levels in benchmarks without needing a discrete GPU OEMs could offer potent portable gaming machines at significantly lower prices than AMD’s Strix Halo-powered devices.

For now, these numbers remain early and unverified. But if they reflect even a portion of the final performance, Intel’s integrated graphics story might be entering a much more competitive
